Day 2: Kenai Peninsula / Embark

Sightseeing in Anchorage this morning includes scenic touring along the breathtaking Kenai Peninsula, where snow-capped peaks, glacier-fed rivers, and rugged coastal cliffs create an awe-inspiring backdrop. Journey through vast wilderness, passing dense spruce forests and shimmering lakes that provide a habitat for moose, bears, and bald eagles. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way as you take in the ever-changing scenery before continuing to the port. Day 3: Hubbard Glacier Cruising

You'll spend the day cruising to the spectacular site known as Hubbard Glacier—the largest tidewater glacier in North America. Stretching over 76 miles from its source in the Yukon, this immense river of ice is constantly advancing, creating thunderous cracks and towering icebergs as it meets the sea. Named after Gardiner Greene Hubbard, a lawyer, philanthropist, and the first president of the National Geographic Society, the glacier honors his contributions to scientific exploration and geographic research in the late 19th century. Set in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the massive glacier is dramatic, mesmerizing, and historic. Accessible only by air or sea, it offers a unique blend of frontier charm and natural beauty. Your sightseeing choices today include a visit to Glacier Gardens, where vibrant flowers bloom atop upside-down trees, followed by panoramic views of the Gastineau Channel and a stop at Mendenhall Glacier, a massive river of ice with scenic trails and interactive exhibits detailing its formation and impact on the region. Enjoy panoramic views along the Klondike Highway and explore Skagway's National Park Historic District, with time for shopping or independent discoveries.
